1:24 DL & DSG Decals

Today see's the 1:24 DSG & DL recieve decals.
I've put the decal images up in case anyone needs them.
I'm using testors white & clear decal paper & the decal bonder spray from the local model shop, hymbrol decal fix when applying.
I printed the decals on an inket printer $50 on special at harvey normans. Print settings where "glossy photo paper a5".

Free 1:24 De Design

I've uploaded the files for the 1:24 De Class, giving everybody who wants it the opportunity to print their own.
I chose the De as its the easiest to assemble & find a motorized chassis for.
The power truck is a LGB 4 wheeler, i only used one in mine, but two is better.
I brought my chassis off ebay for $80 second hand, and used $50 worth of ABS.
I designed it in sections to fit my UP Plus 2 so should fit most printers.
Max Build volume 140 x 140 x 135mm
I found alot of cleaning up was required, lots of filling, sanding & painting repetitions. Although I rushed this model & in areas it shows!
Even includes the driver :)

Running trains

Over the last few months I've been lucky enough to run a few of the 1:24 prints on a wonderful outdoor railway built by Michael Hilliar in Manurewa.
For most of the stuff I've built its never had the opportunity to fully be run in, and of course a few tweaks were required to enable the larger loco's to run around some tight bends.
